Circa 1940 first standalone pritning of two articles by Astronomer Bertrand Peek. Reprinted from the Report of Annual General Meeting of the British Astronomical Association held on October 25, 1939. Report contains two articles on Jupiter, with the final page containing a lengthy nine line addition (annotation) in the hand of Peek. Accompanied by a letter from Peek to fellow British Astronomer, Spencer Jones. Bertrand M. Peek was an English amateur astronomer and author, best known for his detailed observations and writings about Jupiter. His major work, The Planet Jupiter: The Observer’s Handbook, was first published in 1958 and became a useful reference for amateur astronomers studying Jupiter through telescopes. Sir Harold Spencer Jones (1890–1960), was a British astronomer who became the 10th Astronomer Royal, serving from 1933 to 1955.
