Inscribed "FROM THE SCARLET ACKERMANSION TO THE LAIRD OF ONE OF HOLLYWEIRD'S FINEST HOLMES - BOB/FORRY" directly on the FFEP. This obviously intimate inscription between friends and peers Forrest Ackerman and Robert Bloch. Bloch was the author of dozens of horror novels including the "Psycho" series. Ackerman was an American magazine editor; science fiction writer, and literary agent as well as possibly the first true fanboy... While the book itself pales in comparison to the highly important inscription from the previous owners, it was one of the first to take on the case of Chicago's H.H. Holmes. The true story of Holmes would find a bit more acclaim in "The Devil in the White City" by Erik Larson.
