Om, Krishna [#2 OF 100 / SIGNED TO GLENWAY WESTCOTT]

Cherry Valley, NY: Cherry Valley Editions, 1979. First Edition. Hardcover. 5 3/4 X 8 3/4 Inches. Very Good / Very Good. Item #8494

#2 of only 100 copies bearing the signed frontis illustration by Ford as well as the autograph at rear. This copy additionally signed to former lover, mentor and friend Glenway Westcott. Signed, "For Dear Glenway, whose own special effects will be felt over the centuries - Charles Henri / NYC / 20 Nov 80" on the half title-page. Glenway Wescott and Charles Henri Ford shared a relationship that defied conventional categorization - part literary alliance, part romantic entanglement, and entirely emblematic of a vibrant queer avant-garde that pulsed beneath the surface of the 20th-century American literary scene. Though their relationship eventually gave way to other entanglements, most notably Wescott’s enduring partnership with Monroe Wheeler, it left a traceable influence on both men's creative outputs. Ford’s unapologetic queerness and boundary-pushing aesthetics likely challenged Wescott’s more restrained literary style, while Wescott offered Ford a mirror of emotional and artistic maturity.

Original decorated cloth binding a bit worn at edges. A very attractive copy overall.
