Marshall's songs alone have been recording by Conway Twitty, Joe Cocker, Jimmy Buffett, Emmylou Harris, Wynonna, Jessi Colter, John Hiatt, Dion, Olivia Newton-John, Irma Thomas, and Ronnie Milsap and among others. Both Chapman and Crowell are known for their songs, but both are also very good storytellers, as I guess you could assume. If you are looking to get to know Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris or Kris Kristofferson a bit better than this is the book for you. A sharp, unread copy.
