Original red leather with elaborate gilt decoration to covers and spine. Four raised hubs to spine. Official dedicated bookplate from The Southern Classics Library on the FFEP. Some wear to gilt eges. Pages 885 to 950 are oddly lacking the gilt on edges and appear to be of different paper stock (this is actually normal for this particular edition). Obviously some sort of printing error. While this issue is quite odd, the book is complete with attractive leather binding. NO writing, NO foxing, NO plates... A very clean copy.
