Infamous gossip columnist who participated in the Hollywood "blacklist" movement of the 1940's. She lead the attack on Dalton Trumbo for his Communist party activities. Hopper was a contract actress for Louis B. Mayer pictures and appeared in over 100 films in addition to her televison and theater work.

Hopper was the host of her own talk show, "The Hedda Hopper Show" starting in 1939. This is referenced in the letter. Signed boldly in blue ink. Residue at corners of back from previous mounting in an album and/or frame.
