New York: Minton, Balch & Co., 1934. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. 5 3/4 X 8 1/4 Inches. 304 PP. Very Good / Good. Item #4372
Stated "First Edition" on the copyright page. Signed "For Commander A.A. Marstetter with my appreciation of his kindness and courtesy / John H. Craige / 14 November, 1934" directly on the half title-page. Follow-up book to author's Black Bagdad published in 1933. Housed in orignal first issue DJ that has been clipped. A rather sensational account of author's experiences in Haiti during the American occupation. The recipient of the book, Commander A.A. Marstetter, was a noted Medical officer and psychiatrist in the U.S. Navy. Light toning. DJ a bit worn at edges and has a few tape repairs to back. A very attractive copy overall. Signed in the year of publication.
