New York: A. Lay, 1820. Early Edition. 11 1/8 X 14 7/8 Inches. Good. Item #3774

Single leaf broadside printed and steel engraved on laid paper. Rare early American printing of this "rebus" originally published in England in 1791. Based on Franklin's "Way to Wealth" originally printed in Poor Richard's Almanac. Published in New York by A.Lay. Rare version with bust of Franklin in fur hat and hand-colored engravings. Thicker laid paper that exhibits offsetting to rear from wood frame. Stain to lower edges. Two pinholes to top corners. A few closed tears. Complete specimen, but very brittle I am afraid. OCLC locates on one (1) copy of this version / Yale University Library.

Price: $500.00
