Pre-publication copy signed by Beasley to New York City Real Estate Developer Joseph P. Day. It is rumored that during the course of his career he sold nearly 1/3 of the Bronx, 1/3 of Queens and nearly all of Brooklyn!

Incredible surviving pre-publicaton copy, printed in March of 1929 (Letter Code C-D on copyright page). The official publication date of the book was May of 1929 and first printing copies bear the letter code "E-D". The New York Times confirms this publication history with a review of the book "published by Harper Bros. last week" on May 19, 1929. Signed, "To Joseph P. Day, who understands people & Norman Beasley - May 3, 1929." Original maroon cloth boards sharp and clean. Original price of $3.00 intact on front flap. Dust jacket a bit rubbed at folds, but extremely attractive. Quite possibly the finest copy extant.
