The Chosen People: Africa's Lost Tale of Meroe (SIGNED ASSOCIATION COPY)

Tallahassee, FL: Meroen Press, 1992. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. 5 3/8 X 7 1/2 Inches. 344 PP. Very Good +. Item #1076

Signed and inscribed to "Dr. Ruben, My name is William Ashanti Hobbs. I am determined, as a publisher and novelist, to make an impact not only in African-American Literature, but literature as a whole. Please keep me in your mind and heart (especially concerning your possibly writing a foreword for my writing). Peace, Ashanti Hobbs."

Original publisher printed yellow card-stock binding. Cover design by Ramsess, Baby Yoruba and Dexter Robertson. Interesingly, the book begins with a story the author picked up while riding the MARTA to downtown Atlanta. The book itself seems to address the history and plight of the black man in America via the use of some fairly creative tales blended with actual quotes and the real events of the 20th century.

A fairly scarce title with only three copies located on OCLC. Slight crease to rear cover, else a fine copy.

Price: $100.00
