Philadelphia: Lippincott, 1960. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. 5 1/2 X 8 1/4 Inches. 296 PP. Very Good / Very Good. Item #7364
Stated "First Edition" on the copyright page. First issue brown paper with green cloth spine. DJ retains the original price of $3.95. No statement of printing at bottom of front flap (as called for). Retains the original Jonathan Daniels blurb on rear flap. Book itself has some wear and minor loss at board edges. Some rubbing to final page and rear endpaper. Very faint blindstamp of Mrs. F.A. Duggan of Atlanta on rear endpaper. DJ a bit worn at edges and folds, with some easily noticed black ink added at some point. This ink has bled to the back of the jacket. Some rubbing and minor loss in a few spots. This copy remains in original condition with no professional restoration of any kind. We assume the rubbing to last two pages are from the removal of ink or a stamp from Mrs. F.A. Duggan (whose blindstamp could not be removed by someone along the way). The ink was applied to aid the appearance without consideration of doing more damage than good. While not a perfect copy, this specimen is complete and correct.
