Senator Kefauver of Tennessee became a National celebrity and wound up on the cover of TIME magazine. The work of the hearings exposed the roots of the crime syndicate inherited from Lucky Luciano as well as the impact of organized crime in each State; with a focus on Las Vegas, Chicago, New York and Miami. Details of gambling, Capone's operation and bootlegging among many other areas covered in the investigation throughtout.
