New York: Penthouse International, Ltd. September, 1969. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. 8 1/2 X 11 Inches. 98 PP. Near Fine. Item #610
Super hi-grade copy of the First American Issue. The magazine, which was created to be a bit edgier than it's Playboy counterpart, was originally published in the UK. After four years of production, the founder and editor, Bob Guccione, began publication in America with this issue. Historically, the writing in Penthouse has been more in-depth and investigative that that of Playboy. For example, this first issue features the JFK assassination suspect Clay Shaw as the interview guest. Pictorical spread of Miss Evelyn Treacher, the first Penthouse Pet of the Month.
All pages intact. Original spine clean and tight. Hints of wear at foot of spine and the slightest of abrasions to outer edge of front cover. Overall, a splendid example.
