Stated "First Printing" of Hamner's first book! Original price of $3.50 intact on front flap. Signed by Earl Hamner Jr. on a bookplate affixed to the title-page (the plate from the collection of noted Wizard of Oz collector Fred Causey). Hamner cut his teeth on this novel that was followed up by "Spencer's Mountain", the basis for his hit television show THE WALTONS. Hamner was well-known for his TV shows, The Waltons and Falcon Crest. He was also a writer of several Twilight Zone episodes. Fifty Roads to Town clearly shows Hamner's budding interest in the human interest stories spawning from the backwoods of Virginia in the early to mid 20th Century.
Original black cloth binding with immaculate red and silver stamping to spine. A hint of very faint rubbing to jacket. The finest example of this much overlooked classic that we have seen in nearly 20 years in the business.
