Scarce little end of war guide to horse care by Colby, who served in both an Infantry and a Cavalry (21st PA) regiment between August of 1862 and July of 1865. George had served as a Private in Co. K of the 126th PA. Infantry at Fredericksburg's Marye's Heights charge, through the infamous Mud March, and at Chancellorsville, Virginia. Foxing and toning. Intended as a pocket guide, this example in typical condition with a bit of wear to covers.
