1977 COLECO Telstar Video Game System CATALOG

Hartford, Conn. Coleco Industries, Inc., 1977. Ephemera. Original wraps. 8 1/2 X 11 Inches. 19 PP. Very Good +. Item #542

Original 1977 dealer catalog for the Telstar Combat, Ranger, Galazy, Colormatic, Arcade and Alpha game systems. Originally introduced in 1976, the Telstar system hit it's stride in '77 with the addition of games that stepped beyond the simple "Pong" based earlier offerings. The Arcade system (the insert) advertised here was one one of the first systems in the world to offer cartridges that would allow for more than just a few built-in games. The addition of color set the systems apart as well. Coleco might be better known for their later Cabbage Patch Kids, but the Telstar systems should not be overlooked. A serious stepping stone in the video gaming industry. Catalog features a double-page layout on each of the systems as well as information on merchandising displays for retail use. Other products include the Coleco "Lil Genuis", CB-40 and walkie-talkie cb receivers. Original staple binding. Vibrant original colors.

Price: $150.00
