Highly sought after tract on the history, use and stigma surrounding marijuana. Having never owned this book before (very scarce in commerce), I am amazed at the information being shared via this "grapevine" publication. The author hits on the legal consequences of possession of marijuana in various states in the US as well as countries around the globe. His bias is made clear in several passages. His view on the consequences for using pot in Turkey is that Turkey seems like "a good place to stay away from" as they are "rough as hell." The consequences if you are caught in Algeria is that "Eldridge Cleaver will bust you for your own good." The author provides information and phone numbers to call if you are caught in possession of marijuana throughout the world.
Includes tips on growing pot as well as recipes for cooking pot. These include "Hashish Fudge", "Omelette with Herbs" and "Chocolate Cake Like Mother Should Have Made It." Fair to say he probably wasn't the best cook... Includes info on "Bad Trips" and a bibliography, I assume in order to bring down the whole lot of underground pot info dealers should he himself ever get nabbed... Special thanks to Paul at the Unicorn Bookshop Project for the great information. This book is from the fourth print run, performed in October of 1973. A total of 7500 copies were printed in the previous three editions.
Light toning to edges, but a sharp and extremely clean copy overall. A very, very cool piece that is exemplary of the underground publications on the subject in the 60's and 70's.
