Indianapolis: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1947. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. 5 3/4 X 8 1/2 Inches. 220 PP. Very Good / Good. Item #4446
Stated "First Edition" on the copyright page. Signed, "For Miss Bess Showalter, a loyal fried, a great help with Ky Children, Virgil Steed" (Dated August, 1948). Book has a slight tape ghost on FFEP under the authograph. DJ a bit worn at chipped at extremities. I would say this is one out of the Wendell Berry playbook, but Steed beat him to the small town farming life punch.
