Very scarce early printing of Landmann's watershed book on military fortifications. Recent leather spine over period boards (retaining all original text and the original endpapers). A rare text used by the British in training prior to and during the War of 1812. Landmann, a professor of artillery and fortification taught in France until his appointment to the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich by King George III. All three folding plates intact. Slight foxing and toning. PO name in ink on inside front board. Leather boards show a bit of scuffing and wear to edges.
