Nashville, TN: The Nashville Tennessean, 1946. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. 8 3/8 X 10 3/4 Inches. 54 PP. Good. Item #3809
Extremely scarce original book that served as the program for the June 15, 1946 Nashville Tennessean 3-Star Forum Banquet. SIGNED BY SEVERAL CONTRIBUTORS AND CONGRESSMAN J. PERCY PRIEST, Silliman Evans (Owner and Publisher of the Tennessean) as well as Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist Tom Little. The 3-Star Forum Banquet was a yearly gathering of the authors of the best "Letters to the Editor" that were printed the previous year. As you might expect, much of the content of the letters (reprinted in this volume) deal with the close of WWII, the new role of the woman in Tennessee and the reintegration of our returning soldiers.
Edges and corners a bit worn. A bit of scuffing and a previous owner name in pencil to cover. Extremely scarce surviving example. OCLC locates "0" copies of these books for any of the years the banquet was held.
