Origin of the Six Million Dollar Man!

First printing copy signed and inscribed, "To: Ed Mitchell - On this day, the Start - Martin Caidin" directly on the FFEP. Dated October 24, 1973. It is interesting that this book is signed in late 1973 as this is the year that Mitchell founded the Institute of Noetic Science in Palo Alto, CA. Apollo 14 Pilot Edgar Mitchell and Caidin shared a passion for the study of the mind (noetics). About the same time, Caidin began claiming he had the power of telekinesis; the ability to move objects with through mind control. The pair had previously worked together at NASA in the late 60's, when Caidin's "Marooned" was being adapted to the Apollo Missions for the release of the film of the same name.

Original blue cloth boards a bit discolored at edges. Foxing to gutters. Original price of $6.95 intact. Slight wear to DJ edges and folds. A very appealing copy despite the flaws. The finest association copy available of this important book.

Price: $1,500.00
