A truly important memoir of this early Abolitionist and Women's Rights activist!
First "Memorial Edition" in the original green publisher cloth binding. Contains the first printing of the 32 page Memorial Tribute to Truth. The Memorial consists of an interview with Truth, a description of her funeral, a poem and contributions by other abolitionists on her life. Dampstain to front lower corner that affects a small section of the corner for the first third of the book or so. Aside from this staining, a clean and surprisingly fresh copy. Hint of scuffing and wear to edges and boards. Gilt embossed depiction of Truth on front cover complete and in perfect condition. Original tissue-guard intact.
