"The Second Copy" in Hoover's hand!

First printing copy of Hoover's first book after leaving office. An interesting copy that is signed, "The Second Copy - To its greatest Contributor - Dave - from Herbert Hoover" directly on the FFEP. Publisher "A" and seal on the copyright page. Original price of $1.75 intact on front flap of DJ. 5 5/8 X 7 3/4 Inches. 212 PP. Original red cloth a bit bumped at corners. DJ exhibits a bit of surface wear and light wear at edges. Light foxing to top gutter. VG/VG. A very attractive copy overall.

While the book bears no previous owner information, we would assume that the recipient was very close with Hoover. There are a few candidates for this, but we are guessing the book was signed to David Hinshaw. Hinshaw managed Hoover's 1928 presidential campaign publicity and directed the radio division of the Republican National Committee in 1932. He was a noted biographer and friend of Hoover's. .
