Stated "First Edition" on the copyright page. One of Grey's desireable books on fishing housed in original DJ. Original cloth a bit worn at edges, but very attractive overall. DJ worn at edges with a few short tears and several shallow chips. Price-clipped. A rare jacket in any condition.
Personal check dated January 11, 1931 from Zane Grey to famed Swiss watchmaker Albert Wittnauer (Wittnauer is now owned by Bulova) laid-in. The size of check would indicate this might have been payment by Grey for instruments used on one of his boats as Wittnauer instruments were known to be used by the likes of Amelia Earhart for scientific and/or exploration expeditions.
