Boston: Wells and Lilly, 1828. First Edition, First Printing. Full leather. 5 1/2 X 8 3/4 Inches. Very Good. Item #3122
Two volumes, published one year apart (both are the First Edition). Bound in period leather with yellow and black spine labels. Early PO name plate to front pastedown of each volume. Vice-President under James Madison and the namesake of "gerrymandering", Elbridge Gerry was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the only signer to be buried in Washington, DC. The volumes are a bit worn at edges and the corners are bumped. Both volumes complete, but the leather boards have started to bow just a bit. Foxing and toning. A very nice set that sounds much worse than it appears.
