Undoubtedly the most important issue of Mediascene magazine by Steranko. Jim Steranko, the publisher and creator of Mediascene, is most known for his work on Nick Fury by Marvel Comics. Steranko is also known for his conceptual art work done for Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. His concept art for Indy was actually used for the original boardgame and action figure packaging. SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO THE RELEASE OF THE FILM, the marketing team for Star Wars (led by Charles Lippincott) were hard at work spreading the word in a true grass-roots effort. Characters were making appearances at comic shows and local parades. This issue of Mediascene WAS ARGUABLY THE LARGEST MARKETING BREAK FOR STAR WARS PRIOR TO THE FILM'S RELEASE! Articles on Star Wars permeate the issue. The original art of Ralph McQuarrie (continually called Robert in this issue), Joe Johnston and Howard Chaykin (the artist credited with creating the first movie poster for the film) throughout.

An exceptional, unfolded copy. This issue has the look of a "file" copy. No mailing label as usually found. Tight wrap and sharp corners. Star Wars incunabula if such a category existed.

Price: $150.00
