New York: The American Cancer Society, 1956. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. 7 7/8 X 10 1/4 Inches. 322 PP. Good +. Item #2185

Original stiff wraps with brown cloth binding. One of the very first serious meetings / studies that addressed the link between cigarettes and lung cancer. The researchers presenting here were among the first to study the link and would go on to became the catalysts of the "Stop-Smoking Movement" in America. Of note are the contributions of E. Cuyler Hammond and Daniel Horn who presented their research findings on the link between tobacco and cancer at this annual meeting. While we do find several of these reports held by institutions, they seem rare on the open market.

Wear to edges and corners. A few pencil notes to first page. Strip of tape to top inch of spine.
