Greenwich, CT: Fawcett Publications, 1950. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. 8 3/8 X 11 1/8 Inches. Very Good. Item #1426

Original August, 1950 issue with cover art by Fred Ludekens. Contains the important story "The 9 Lives of Scottsboro" about the supposed rape of two white women by nine black men in 1931. The Scottsboro trials have become landmark cases in the struggle for race equality in America, although equality was not in the cards for Haywood Patterson, Ozie Powell, Thomas Knight (died prior to trial), Clarence Norris, Andrew Wright, Charlie Weems, Willie Roberson, Olen Montgomery, Eugene Williams and Roy Wright. You men suffered and fought for the rights I take for granted everyday. May you rest in peace. One of the original Men's magazines that were very popular in the 40's and 50's. Light wear to edges. A very sharp copy overall.
