The Delano Grape strike was a significant step in furthering equal rights for migrant farm workers in 1960's America as well as being the movement that formed the United Farm Workers of America. Through non-violent demonstration and boycott of non-union grapes, the group was successful in attaining a contract from the table-grape company owners that ensured they would be paid equally to the federal minimum wage.
